25th Edition of the Business Creation Competition in Monaco

On Wednesday January 13, 2021, at 6 p.m., the 25th edition of the Business Creation Competition will take place at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo. An event that will take place online this year.

Created in 1963, the Junior Economic Chamber of Monaco now has more than 130 members and promotes many projects in the Principality including the Startup Weekend, the Business Creation Competition, the Commerce Survey, or the startup battle “Get in The Ring“.

The Business Creation Competition is a collaborative initiative of the JCEM – chaired by Marion Soler -the Prince’s Government, the Direction of Economic Expansion, the Welcome Office and the support of sponsors, such as Athos Partners, Crédit Agricole Monaco, SMT, the lawyer firm Gordon S. Blair and other generous sponsors of the JCEM.

It enables promising projects to be highlighted, and the creation of synergies with investors, potential partners, economic leaders and personalities from the Monegasque economic center.

Designed with the aim of helping and supporting young entrepreneurs in their establishment in the Principality of Monaco, the Business Creation Competition has already enabled the realization of several projects including that ofAthos Partners – independant placement advisory firm specialized in the private equity fund sector and alternative investments, Papyrus, Bookvidéo, Le Teashop or My Marketing Xperience.

Last year, World E-Bike Series (WES) won the first price.

This year 10 candidates will follow one another to present their projects at this event during which the Government Counselor – Minister of Finance and the Economy, Jean Castellini will present the Government Prize.

This competition concerns project leaders aged between 18 and 40 during the current calendar year and owners of at least 33% of the capital of the company (already incorporated or in the process of being structured)

The manager or future manager must also exercise his professional activity in the Principality and present a project in accordance with Monegasque regulations, intended for establishment in Monaco.

The 1st winner of this Business Creation Competition will receive a prize of €40,000, followed by a prize of € 21,000 for the second winner and € 5,000 for the 3rd. The most deserving projects will also receive the “Monaco Success box” (containing goods and services) offered by the JCEM partners.
